  8. Not used it myself, but I believe its a Windows Store App you have to add, to then create the setup file. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/set-up-school-pcs/9nblggh4ls40
  9. Could it be DNS related? If you ipconfig /all on a station. Is the DNS suffix set correctly - eg: school.local and are the DNS servers all local DNS Domain Controllers (eg. you dont have any external non-DC DNS entries as secondary or anything for internet access). Is DHCP issuing IPv6 DNS entries? If so, do these resolve local DNS Domain Controllers, and is IPv6 enabled on those servers.
  10. If you extract it in windows on the PC in question, Device Manager, Right click Update Driver Browse Manually to: C:\SWSetup\SP74584\WIN7\64 (assuming OS is x64) Will it install that specific driver?
  11. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74501-75000/sp74584.exe C:\SWSetup\SP74584\WIN7\64 Its a special "HP Enzo" driver hp64win7.inf %RTL8168.DeviceDesc% = RTL8168HS5WOLHideType2.ndi, PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_8062103C&REV_15 ;HP_Enzo
  12. No problem, glad it worked. I appreciate you might want an MSI for Gimp, but for info you can run the exe with a command param: C:\Users\%username%\Downloads\gimp-2.8.16-setup-2.exe /verysilent Give it a min or 2 in the background, (or watch with taskman) and it will just install with defaults without displaying a GUI. Greg
  13. For Paint.NET Download and Extract from: http://www.dotpdn.com/files/paint.net.4.0.9.install.zip C:\Users\%username%\Downloads\paint.net.4.0.9.install\paint.net.4.0.9.install.exe /auto /createMsi It creates a folder on your desktop: C:\Users\%username%\Desktop\PaintDotNetMsi PaintDotNet_x64.msi PaintDotNet_x86.msi
  14. In which case, it does sound like the driver, does the HardwareID (gathered in windows device manager) matches the x64 inf file you have imported into the boot.wim? For example in device manager you get: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B1&SUBSYS_C4708086&REV_6B Then you would expect to see this string in the inf file in the driver folder (if you open the .INF in notepad and search for it).
  15. If you want to prove the network driver hasn’t initialised properly, at the prompt cant get IP, instead of clicking ok, leave the message on screen. Press Shift-F10, this will bring up a command prompt window (sometimes you have to alt tab if the cmd.exe window loads behind the prompt). ipconfig, and it will presumably be blank... At the prompt: wpeutil InitializeNetwork This take a few moments, but will then force the driver store to reload and search for a driver for the hardware installed. If after that, ipconfig still shows blank, the correct driver defiantly isn’t in the boot.wim... If it comes up with an IP at this stage, there is a timing issue with the machine getting an IP Address from DHCP… that could be something else. From what you have set it most probably is driver related... Note for network drivers, you not only have to add them to WDS Drivers, but you also have to manually then add them to the boot image (right click, add driver on the boot.wim under Boot Images after adding to Drivers) - this is an additional step just for network/sata drivers. I would recommend you take a backup of your boot.wim by right click Export before adding boot drivers, as you can get conflicts. If it is driver related, and the above hasn’t helped, to diagnose further, when you have the driver installed and working in windows, if you go to Device Manager, right click the installed adaptor, properties, details and select Hardware IDs take down the top ID, and then search the content of your driver .inf file you have imported to make sure the ID matches - if it does not match, the driver is not correct for the hardware. Also note you need the x86 driver in the boot.wim (if your boot.wim is x86), if you are using the x86 boot.wim to install an x64 install image. The boot/format/filecopy part is x86 until after the first boot. If your boot.wim is x64 naturally it’s only the x64 driver you will need to add to the boot image. Hope this helps, Greg
  16. Burconix Ltd began its journey in May 2008, led by two highly experienced and motivated co-owners. Our aim was to provide high quality, cost effective ICT solutions for schools. Over the years we have been involved with many network migrations, ranging in size, scope and complexity, delivering projects within budget and on time. As passive users of the forums for many years, we have decided to become active contributors. Over the coming months we will start helping others where we can. For those unfamiliar with us, we have an in-house development team, who write our Network Management Tools. These tools are designed to make managing your network a breeze, and are used on many sites from small primary schools through to large colleges. All sales enquiries for engineering, support and software, are handled by our actual experienced engineers, so you get first-hand information from the people who install and maintain school ICT systems. Please contact us, either by private message, telephone 0115 753 1005, or email [email protected] should you wish to discuss your school’s requirements.
