Thanks for all the replies, I'll revisit the staff AUP and add in some elements to incorporate the areas suggested.

Does anyone ask their technical teams to sign an IT Team specific AUP or do they all sign the standard staff policy? Our general staff AUP doesn't cover some things that IT staff have access too e.g. server rooms. I need to write one but didn't want to reinvent the wheel if anyone had one or a template I could use. Thanks

Exchange 2010, External Email and Distribution Group issue
mweller replied to mweller's topic in Enterprise Software
Yes that is the case, I've now gone through the process of creating a SPF record and they all now work. Tracking the messages they were leaving the org but the SPF record seems to allow the forwarding to the external contacts, hotmail was fine but yahoo and gmail blocked the forwarding email but the SPF record seems to of sorted this out. Thanks -
Exchange 2010, External Email and Distribution Group issue
mweller replied to mweller's topic in Enterprise Software
Thanks for the reply sukh, I tried your suggestion but we are still experiencing the issue. After some more testing it looks like Google are blocking the forwarding email. If you send an email to the distribution group in the normal way the email arrives at all addresses but if you use the distribution group in a rule or as a forward it never reaches google but it does other accounts e.g. hotmail. Google have suggested I look at creating a SPF record as google mail looks at these. Not done this before so am reading up on it now. -
Hi all We have an Exchange 2010 server and I am trying to get a specific email address to forward any incoming email to a distribution group. I have set up the forwarding happily through the management console so it redirects to the created distribution group. The distribution group consists of internal and external contacts. I have created the external people as mail contacts and I can send them an email by using this mail contact in the normal way but when they are part of a distribution group it fails to send, however the internal contacts work. We have other external distribution groups and we can send emails to these external addresses happily but it seems the forwarding element causes an issue. I have looked at the Message Delivery Restrictions on the email address, mail contacts and distribution group and ensured the require that all senders are authenticated is unticked but it still won't send to external mail contacts. Have I missed anything? Thanks Mark

Thanks PeterP, just what I was looking for. With regards to logon times if I included the whole script added approx. 2-3 seconds on a brand new machine, and 10 seconds on our oldest machines. HTH

Hi I am looking to create a script that checks a users start menu for dead links and if this doesn't exist to apply the hidden attribute, or if that is not possible delete it. The start menu has been redirected to a specific location within a users profile and is copied from a central share on a server and this works well but with an ever growing list of software more and more dead links are being added to users start menus. I don't have much experience with scripting so wondered if anyone could help me? Thanks Mark

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll just go down the Icons on the desktop route. Cheers Mark

Hi all Firstly apologises if this is in the wrong place but I wasn't sure what section this would come under. We are running Windows 7 across the site having installed a new network over the summer, I have just been asked by our EYFS department whether they could have an explorer open at logon that shows large icons instead of going through the start menu. We used to have RM CC3 here so I guess I am looking for something like the RM Explorer 2 program that could be started at logon. Does anyone use an equivalent program to do this? Or is there another way to achieve this? I had thought about putting the Icons on the Desktop and make them large Icons but I just wondered if there was a simple app out there that did this. Thanks Mark

Hi We are having some trouble with out Knowledge box, over the past few days the Interactive activities, print activities, and animations have stopped working. I have tried adding the knowledge box's IP to the trusted sites and local intranet zones but still no joy. The animations will start to load get to 100% and stop again, the print activities don't load at all. I have tried this on IE7, IE6 and different versions of flash including different browsers (safari and firefox) but am getting the same results. Has anyone else had this problem or can you think of anything else I could try? Ironically it works fine on my mac with safari. Cheers Mark
