  5. The iPads were iPad mini 1s from 2013 that were slightly damaged in some way (like a headphone socket or rocker switch) or that we couldn't remove from DEP. We just put them to work as displays instead of disposing of them.
  6. I wrote one for in-house a couple of years ago that links to SIMS, and displays what the current lesson or booking is on an iPad outside each of the computer rooms.

  8. CopyProfile = true kills it.
  9. I think copyprofile in sysprep in Windows 10 build 10240 is still broken. We've been testing this all day. A fresh install from the DVD on the machine, going through the setup for a local account and then joining it to the domain manually works. Any user profile can log on and get a start menu, search and notification centre any time they log on. No sysprep, so no copyprofile. However, a fresh install put into audit mode, and then immediately sysprepping against an unattend.xml answer file that than turns on the local administrator account and sets a password with copyprofile=true doesn't behave the same way at all. After manually joining that to the domain, for any user profile that logs on, the start menu, search and notification centre don't work. Unless you blow away the profile entirely and delprof, and then for the first login, everything works fine. On any subsequent login, no start menu, search or notification centre. But - another fresh install, audit mode and immediately sysprepping against the unattend.xml WITHOUT copyprofile=true and everything was good again. Tried building the image and sysprepping without being connected to a network as detailed here: Windows 10 Image - Customize in Audit Mode with Sysprep - Page 12 - Windows 10 Forums but that doesn't seem to work here either. The only thing that seems to work is not having copyprofile in the unattend.xml file.
  10. Yes - if the sysprepped image contained windows updates. The roaming profiles are killing us, now. With a sysprepped image and copyprofile=true, you can log in once fine - start menu, search and notifications area all work, but log off and log on again even on the same machine, and none of those things work at all.
  11. I have downloads, but no keys. I've been on the phone with Microsoft and was told I had to wait until they had finished an update to MVLSC, and that I should check again in MVLSC on the 8th August for the Windows 10 Education KMS key to show up then.

  16. I'm glad there are so many people here that are having a great experience with Smoothwall. Sadly, for me - I'm sorry to say that I haven't. Webpages have been incredibly slow to load on workstations around the school. You can wait up to 30 seconds at times for a page to appear. Bypassing the Smoothwall, and the issue goes away. For something that is a critical box, the support we've received over the time that we've had it hasn't been great. Recently, an issue occurred which meant that we were unable to provide any filtered internet connection through the Smoothwall to our pupils or staff for two days. You can imagine the number of complaints we had to deal with in the office. In the end we resolved the issue on our own as it just felt like we were weren't a priority for Smoothwall support. We had to do something. Two days without connectivity. Two days with little movement on the support ticket. I seem to recall that when we first got the box, we just ended up putting it in the rack and configuring it ourselves. I wasn't involved in that stage of things, and I keep meaning to ask whether we should have received some support in setting it up, or whether that was an additional option at cost that we didn't buy. Just recently, trying to use NearPod in school - the drawing features are being blocked by the Smoothwall. We've followed all the advice from NearPod in trying to unblock the required sites and configuring the Smoothwall, but it still doesn't work. It does on other sites that don't use Smoothwall as a proxy, and is fine from home where there isn't any proxy in place. It's got the be the Smoothwall. Any fix on this, support? Still waiting... (other than the response that it is a NearPod issue) The web interface on the Smoothwall to manage it is just poor. Imagine if you were new to the device and wanted to do something simple, such as block or unblock a site. Nothing intuitive. We also hold off on updating the Smoothwall box as the updating process has killed it a few times before. I went to visit the Smoothwall stand at BETT a few years ago, and I stood around for a while waiting for a few people to become free to talk to me, but as soon as anyone was, I was ignored. Or they went off to talk to someone else that they knew. So, regrettably, the sum of all this means that my personal experience of Smoothwall isn't great. Glad other people are happy with it, though.
  17. The unattend.xml for this Technical Preview for Enterprise needs the key putting in the specialize section otherwise it will stop dead and ask for the key after sysprepping an image. PBHCJ-Q2NYD-2PX34-T2TD6-233PK * Deploys fine with FOG (with the usual Windows 8 workaround for FOG 0.32) I've also enabled a local administrator account and set the unattend.xml to autologon three times with to run a logon command each time, but I'm finding that it autologons once, and runs all the commands simultaneously. It could be my script, but it has worked fine with Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. I'll play around with that a bit more.
  18. Had the same issue as @MrWu this morning - we'd just recently moved ISPs and needed to change the proxy settings within SOLUS3. SOLUS3 needs to phone home to Capita to verify that all the modules loaded are correct and up-to-date.
