Don't be gutted! The £160 was the XP Home version which is still fine (might even be cheaper!) The new price is the XP Pro £190 is much lower than before!! They are perfect for running a white board and basic software, in fact we have one here running our accounts system without any problems at all. Given their size and being wall/monitor mountable as well as great energy usage they are perfect machines for the classroom. If you want to test one I can offer a 7 day trial but at this price I would need to ask you to cover the courier cost £10 each way if you didn't want to keep the unit. Both the desktops are Dual Core however the linux laptops are like gold dust, as there is little demand Acer don't make many and as such I don't think there will be a dual core version, at least not for a while. Sorry Richard

Does it have to be Asus or would you consider the Acer 10.1" D150 with 6 cell battery?

All Acer Vista Business PCs and Laptops come with XP Pro downgrade and Windows 7 upgrade. ALl Acer Vista Home Premium PCs and Laptops have Windows 7 upgrade. The upgrade must be registed with Acer before December and will cost about £12-15. Hope that helps.
