The picture of the school isn't as tacky as I thought it might have been. It's a framed print of a mid-19th century watercolour depiction of the school from the front. 2 more boxes of choc have arrived as well as a trio of red wines.

This is my last day working in my school. I've got an official farewell from the Head later this morning (my manager is suggesting they might give me a framed pic of the school) and last week I was given an unexpected round of applause from my fellow support staff (prompted - not spontaneous but I take what I can get). We watched Absolutely Anything at the weekend. I didn't have high hopes for it as I hadn't even heard of it two weeks ago but it was quite enjoyable in the end but I can't imagine it won any awards. The other Mr Sagima criticised it for a lack of imagination on the unlimited wishes front (only the villain of the piece seemed to really get on board with doing it properly) but to be honest if they had done it "properly" it wouldn't have been as fun. I'd probably give it about 6/10 - the cast was wasted by the writing to some extent. It seemed very much like a film that was written for a bunch of teen actors for a teen audience and then suddenly promoted into being a proper movie with some hurried edits.

I'd still run the powershell command to turn it off even if it wasn't exposed in the gui. It does seem a strong possibility. --- Get-NetAdapterVmq then for all listed as true Set-NetAdapterVmq -Name "NIC Name" -Enabled $False --- There's probably a command line option to do the same. I believe VMQ should be off for 1Gig and under connections and on for 10Gb and over iirc (I don't know about 2.5Gb and 5Gb as I have never needed to look into it as I don't have switches or NICs that support those speeds)

I think I'd just turn it off for a month and see who complains (well I'd probably just rename it so they couldn't access it and then transfer stuff once they called in about it.) I watched this with my housemate on DVD when it was released. After we got to the end we both looked at each other in bafflement and decided we needed to watch it again to figure out what happened. it remains only one of two films that I have watched multiple times in the same day (The other being Pulp Fiction) I've seen it a couple of times since and I think it really helps to have watched it before you watch it.

We just have an APC environmental monitor in each server rooms plugged into a UPSs. We only track temp and humidity.

I've accidentally done that in that past as well. Most of our network is 1gig - so roughly 112-15meg/sec copying speed. That which isn't is 10gig but all of the 10gig machines are on the part that is still 1 gig and all of the 10gig network only serves 1gig machines.

Then it must be the internal connection on the router mustn't it? Is that pingable?

Can you reach an ip on the outside (dns) Has your firewall block rule (normally the bottom one) somehow found itself above the outbound internet rule? Has your firewalls network adapter [internal] changed it's ip address (dhcp?) or faulted (set ip on different port)
