Hi guys,

Just replaced our Timetabler's computer. Installed SIMS as normal.

Jumping into Options 5, Implementation Manager pops up with the message "cannot read 'n' implementations" ('n' just happens to be 10).

No problems on his old machine or any other computer so it's not an issue with the Options directory on the server as the KB article from Capita suggests.

Permissions are correct (same problem occurs when logged on as administrator) and the OS is the same as others in the school where it all works.

Any suggestions? (awaits notification from brilliant Edugeek app!)

I think the answer you require is:

• Ensure you're in the directory S:\sims\setups

• Run NOVASatelliteSetup.exe. Point this at the local workstation

• Then run C:\program files\sims\sats\BDE511\setup.exe

This needs to be done on each PC that has the problem.

Definitely just run SIMSInfrastructure. Done this twice in the last week to fix this problem. It is indeed the old Borland 'bits that are missing - to be able to read the Options .dbf files.

I’ve tried this but get the message ‘ an error occurred while attempting to initialise the Borland Database Engine error $2108 when attempting to open the table \\sims\simsdata\\options\imp0012\control.dbf’ when I try to create new from the implementation manager. Any suggestions? Also, in the implementation details pop-up box I am at a loss as what to enter in the gateway and star directory sections.

Help much appreciated.
