Movie Maker 6 import not working

Hi all,

 

I've had to install movie maker 6 from here on our windows 7 machines because the teachers don't like the live 2011 or 2012 editions.

It works fine as admin, but when running under standard user accounts they can't use the import function. I suspect it's because it is trying to save temp files somewhere. Does anyone know which directory needs write access?

I had reall problems with movie maker, in the end i have installed VideoLan movie maker works a treat and teachers seems to like it. Its still in its early stages v 0.0.2 i think but if vlc player is anything to go on i think it will continue to improve.

Not sure how much help this will be, but we've currently got Movie Maker 6 running alongside Live MM fine here.

 

We've got nothing special set up for it and students can import and use it fine! Have you got anything specifically locked down within program files or anything?

No, permissions etc haven't been changed. Clicking the import button does nothing. Could it be something to do with libraries because these are hidden using a group policy?

Dragging files onto the mm6 window allows them to be added.
