SCCM 2012, SCUP 2011 WSUS and Adobe Flash catalog

I've gone through and set up SCUP, imported certificates into Trusted Publishers, Root etc... and deployed it across the network, where there is now 6.2% compliance.

 

I've then imported the Flash Player catalog into SCUP, and published the items.

 

In SCCM I've then configured the Software Update Point, adding 'Adobe Systems Inc', and its product 'Adobe Flash Player', and also the 'Local Publisher' and 'Locally published packages'.

 

I've then told SCCM to Sync updates, but I can't see the Flash packages anywhere - they aren't appearing.

 

Anyone got any hints where I should be looking to find where the problem is?

I could never get it do do anything in SCCM 2007 / SCUP 2011 so gave up and just sent it out as a mandatory software package to all machines.

Do the same in SCCM 2012 and the same with Java - well until it started having glaring security holes!

It does seem to be particularly odd. I've followed a PDF instruction that someone created, and then watched a video of someone doing the exact same thing. I've copied it to the letter and nothing. Hmm... I suspect a bug may be at play here.

Yep same as what happened to me - once I got it to show up in SCCM as a metadata (Blue Arrowed Icon) but nothing else and it wouldn't download any of the updates.

Well! I just deleted all the ADR, packages etc... And suddenly, its appeared in the Software Updates list!!!!

It seems that I was impatient. If it doesn't seem to be working, just leave it for a bunch of hours, maybe run another update sync etc...

 

I am now happy to say, it works perfectly for me.

My dream is to get Flash, Reader and Java in there. That would be bliss. As they all seem to release new versions on a daily basis.

Yeah that was my reason for looking at SCUP the first time round. Java is such a pain as you need to extract the MSI to get it to do anything decent...

Hmm, must be doing something wrong - I keep getting these errors when trying to publish updates:

Yeah - just deleted the certs and redisd them - seems to be publishing them now!

Can select "Adobe Reader" and "Adobe Flash Player" as a Product search filter, but no results are found...

Ok that's weird - ConfMgr integration wasn't enable in SCUP

Good good. I'm now trying to get the Reader catalog working. Its all appearing but so far everything is saying it doesn't require the updates... Which is odd, as they all need them.

Got one PC to take the Reader 10.1.5 Update so far so Reader at least is working - lol
