marekbrad Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 have you joined the macs to the windows domain? How to Bind the Lion Server to Active Directory - For Dummies applies to workstation and server
sted Posted January 15, 2013 Author Posted January 15, 2013 na its just a single pc see no need to domain it
mdench Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 did you try just the username and password no domain\ etc? As ours if it asks it doesnt require the domain part and is quite happy with the username n password. This was done before we added them to the domain.
mac_shinobi Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I thought OS X 10.7 or 10.8 used its own version of SMB ( SMB X ) which does not work correctly or the same as normal SMB. May be a case of using SMB UP ( eduo.info » SMBUp )

sted Posted January 15, 2013 Author Posted January 15, 2013 how odd..? do you have a linux or nas share you could try connecting to? nope just one 08 box i remember 10.7 being a pita elsewhere as well it would weite to network but nowt else could read it
mdench Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 only thing that has just sprung to mind was i remember one of ours randomly asking for the local admin user n password before accepting the domain details. I think something it was trying to do with Keychains. So you could try that, if that doesn't work afraid im fresh out of ideas at the moment.
