A broken three pin plug came up to us from our Maths Department today:

The picture isn't that good [rubbish photographer] The plastic dummy earth pin has been broken off.

 

Between the live and neutral pins it says:

 

THIS SCREW DOES NOT RELEASE THE LID

 

Having read this I wondered how we were supposed to replace the fuse [should we need to] Unscrewing the screw gives:

So I am a bit confused. Why is the text between the pins there at all? :confused:

You change the fuse by flipping out the little fuse carrier with a screwdriver.

 

Good point. However still doesn't tell us why the misleading text is there?
