Hi

I know there are some edugeekers on here from the US of A, so was wondering if they could provide recommendations for a decent US based host.

As a minimum I'm looking for 4 websites, 4 mySQL databases, 4 email accounts and PHP support. Most I'm looking to spend is around £6 a month.

Thanks,

John

Not a US member, but I use Dynadot.com for my US hosting needs. Very good service, excellent pricing and their control panel is good too. If you do use them, I'd love it if you could use my referral code. :) It is 9V7W8IA6Q6ac73. Their Advanced Hosting plan at $60 a year would cover what you want. I've been a customer for about 6 or so years now I think, and spend about $140 a year there and have never had a single complaint.

I'd also not want to go with anyone who says 'unlimited' storage... No such thing. It usually means servers are going to be over-provisioned.

If I give you a script can you see if it runs? (it uses CURL to lookup Gumtree ad's and echo's the specifics), I know some hosts disable CURL.

I use these guys and they are much better than GoDaddy, and really reliable. Cpanel is great and i find it better than plesk. Cost does depend on the type of hosting you want, but there is a basic webhosting package with unlimited storage and unlimited bandwidth for $6 -> Buy-HTTP

I have been running sites for about 10 years and have been using Hostgator for most of that time with no issues other then ones I have caused..lol. Great support and very responsive to anything I need. I started out on shared, moved to reseller, and now I'm on a VPS through them.

Four sites? You wont get many offers for $6.00 a month you must think the world owes you a break lol.

The fact that many have already found hosts that offer this... is what exactly? Great first post, won't be touching your company with a barge pole...

... lol.

Any reason why it needs to be US?

I have a UK host already and will be looking at launching my suite of sites in the US shortly, which means I'll get improved speed and SEO with a host local to my visitors.
