browolf Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Since last week sophos has gone mad! Every half an hour or so it creates new processes and tries to eat 100% cpu. I found setting the sophos processes to low priority keeps my computer working. Otherwise everything is so diabolically slow I'm forced to hard reset. I've also got 24 instances of conhost started by the sophos account. Sophos described as "xxx program" seems odd. First is to check is reinstalling sophos tho...
Michael Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 What version of Sophos client are you running?
psydii Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 How many users is it impacting? Have you raised a support ticket with Sophos?
browolf Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 No it was just my computer. Anyway it hasn't happened since I uninstalled and reinstalled it so far. So hopefully it stays fixed.
psydii Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Strange. Finger crossed that's the end of it.

Its done the same a few times for me the last couple of weeks usually deploying it again solves it, but I have noticed the new Sophos for mac is playing up to a point of completely locking the machine
