Tidying Up Group Policies Computer Configuration Settings

I'm in the process of tidying up the group policies on the network. In the Windows 7 computers OU there are the following policies linked:

 

Staff

Student

Exam

Visitor

 

On each of them the computer configuration section is duplicated which makes it really time consuming to simply change computer settings.

 

If I create a new policy called system will it cause any issues removing the computer configuration parts from the 4 existing group policies?

You could backup/restore existing settings to your new policy, configure the necessary changes then link it as required.
