I'm in the process of tidying up the group policies on the network. In the Windows 7 computers OU there are the following policies linked: Staff Student Exam Visitor On each of them the computer configuration section is duplicated which makes it really time consuming to simply change computer settings. If I create a new policy called system will it cause any issues removing the computer configuration parts from the 4 existing group policies?

We've started allocating Netbooks out to students on a laptop trolley. At the moment we've set up a batch of them using the usual sysprepped Windows 7 image which I made which we use on all desktops and computers however the Netbooks performance with this is unacceptable and the main factor is that it takes quite a while for the services to start up on the logon screen that the students can't log on for at least 5 minutes, as the wireless doesn't connect instantly due to the limited resources that the Netbooks have. I've set up a Windows 2008 R2 RDS Server so I can try this solution with the netbooks, we currently also have a Citrix setup which I am looking to replace with RDS in the long run so these Netbooks would be the ideal way to show the RDS solution off. I've put Windows XP on a Netbook, removed the ability to connect to the Internet (Made up proxy settings) deleted the shortcuts to everything in the start menu and created a locked down profile which auto logs on when the students switch the netbooks on, overall the startup time is around 20 seconds. Is it possible to make an rdp file which on startup will go straight to the logon screen of the RDS server, with the the connection bar at the top hidden. Basically so it's like XP will boot up and go straight to the logon screen of the RDS server, I don't really want to join the Netbooks to the domain as they start up really quick as they are. I will write a batch file to launch the RDP file which connects to the RDS server and then put a shutdown command after so the Netbooks automatically shut down when the user logs off of the RDS session. Please advise the best way to achieve this set up.

I've downloaded ESXi 5 and have been given a serial number on the VMWare website presumably for the free version. Whenever I launch the vSphere Client it tells me that it's an evaluation version and will expire in 60 days, is there any way for me to put the product key I've been given in permanently so I can just get on with the free version, I'm not interested in what the trial offers and I would like to just get started with the basics. From what I've read online you should be able to put the product key in by going to licenses on the home screen of the vSphere client but the only options I have available are Inventory, Roles & System logs.

Intererestingly this doesn't seem to happen on IE7, only seems to be on IE8 & 9.

We have an interesting issue with our Sharepoint Calendars, I've set up a couple of Sharepoint Calendars for IT Room Booking and they work great, I've set the default view to week View so that the users can see all of the room bookings for the entire week from Monday to Friday for their selected room. There's a small issue with this, whenever a users hovers their cursor over the day of the week at the top of the page or over the time down the right hand side of the page, it causes all of the room bookings in the calendar to refresh for some reason. Nothing else causes them to do this and hovering over them normally will not cause them to refresh, only if you go over the date or the time. Is there any way to stop it from doing this? We're using Sharepoint Services 3.0 on Windows 2008 R2, haven't upgraded to foundation because it doesn't do what I'd like at the moment and it's considerably more resource hungry than 3.0.
