Is It Possible To Disable One Program When Another Is Used ?.

 

I was trying to think how to disable 'Facebook' when 'Skype' is being used .

 

After waiting all week to see and speak to our daughter at uni all she seems to be doing when we Skype her is talking to her mates on Facebook.

 

So if I could accidentally place some software in her new Xmas present of a new laptop running PCLinuxOS KDE to stop Facebook when she is talking to us on Skype that will be good .

 

I need someone to write a script to get this to work.

It needs to disable Facebook when she uses Skype then after she has finished with Skype enable Facebook again.

Any idea's please.

Modify it's launcher to run a shell script that fires up one program after doing a killall to the other.

Send a text saying "Im trying to Skype you. Pick up pls:)"

I talk to my friends all the time when Im skyping my folks. Its what us kids do. Embrace it, chat to her on facebook and skype at the same time.

I can MYOB, Facebook and take phonecalls all at once, Nothing wrong with a bit of multitasking.

Just tell her not to be so rude - and have the decency to talk to you only when skyping. I had to - and yes, I know that it is what kids do these days - but I pointed out that we HAD waited all week to talk to her and so she could spare us 10 uninterupted minutes. Shame her into it, that's what I say

Not really, you just need to upload a few baby photos to facebook and threaten to link their friends to them.
