ICT Technician's role available at an 11-16 Academy in Grimsby. You'll be running the site with support from the Regional Network Manager as and when it's needed so more of a Network Manager's role really. You'll also have support from an apprentice that's part of the Microsoft Apprenticeship Scheme:

Yes I am but I'm about to become the Regional Network Manager covering around 15 academies in the Eastern Region. My office will still be at JWA though.

The Academy has around 400 computers and 800 users and you'll be responsible for running it with support from an apprentice. You'll also be responsible for ensuring that the apprentice completes certain learning modules as part of their "on-the-job training". Knowledge and experience of the following would give you a distinct advantage:

 

Hyper-V

Server 2008

Windows 7

Group Policy

Active Directory

WDS

WSUS

DHCP

SIMS server administration

Sophos Enterprise Console

multi-vendor managed switches

VLANs

Wi-Fi

ethernet cabling

Smoothwall Web Filter and Proxy

Backup Exec
