RCowderoy Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Can anyone help me? I have a copy of the green abbey dataset. A standalone Windows 7 laptop. I want to install sims.net to use the local database. It will not be connected to the network. I have a copy of the setup folder. Can someone advise me of the steps to installation. I installed the following programs: CCssQLExpressInst SiMSINST with the following options selected: Computer used a sims workstation The computer to be used as a sims sql server Computer to be used as a document server When I go to run sims.net it prompts me for the connect.ini file which I have pointed to the location c:\program files\sims\connect.ini And then nothing happens I’m sure I am missing a step or the configuration is wrong. Any suggestions of how I can get this working would be great and greatly appreciated :-)
Adam- Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I assume you attached the database? although even if you didn't, you should receive an error
RCowderoy Posted December 4, 2012 Author Posted December 4, 2012 I did attach the database using the db atttach function. Still does nothing.
Adam- Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I would double check the connect.ini contains the correct server/instance and DB name. If its correct then try deleting the SIMS .net folder from the C: drive and re run SIMS.inst from your setups folder (only need to select workstation option, not SQL or DMS) 1
