Hi,

We are having a really strange issue, where by on our admin network staff are saving work in a shared folder. But when another member of staff goes to open the file on a different login or PC it is either a previous version of the file or they can't open it at all. The files in the folder look like they are open, faded with the $ sign in front.

Any help would be appreciated.

I recall the files with the $ are temporary files create when office has a file open and is used for auto recovery. Are you admin users opening the same file at the same time (as the file locking will be an issue then)? Or are some of them not closing the files correctly (maybe a network problem)?

+1 I was going for an offline files issue. I'd also disabe caching on the folder share.

if you log into that server you can go to computer management and see all the users who have that file open and for how long, this may help you find the culprit.

I have just checked and offline files was switched on for some reason. I have switched it off now, so I will see if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the help.
