Ginger9997 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Hi guys, Im suffering from a little bit of confusion. I have put in KMS and its working fine and im using event viewer to make sure everything is running smoothly. No devices will have a MAK key. Now is there any advantage to me having VAMT running aswell? Can be used for reporting or is it just a different method of providing licensing? Thanks for your help!
Hedghog Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 VMAT is just a licensing managment tool - it lets you look at which clients have connected/not connected, what keys you have installed etc
BHMS Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 VAMT only really shines when you are activating clients that don't have an internet connection or you don't have enough for KMS.
Ginger9997 Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 Thanks lads. So with my KMS in place and working fine theres really no need for VAMT. I thought they would have made a decent report for the KMS host!
AngryTechnician Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 The main thing I use VAMT for these days is getting human-readable error messages when activation doesn't work. It's pretty rare that I open it up.
