CESIL Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Our Head is (and me even more so) fed up with his Kodak AIO printer after all the paper jams and cartridge problems...it may have very low cost ink but has been nothing but trouble! So...what would be a good replacement? He wants colour but I don't know whether an inkjet (HP?) or laser (?) would be best. What do you use for desktop printers in an office like the Head's? Or do they not get a printer of their own?
m25man Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Take a look at the new HP200 series. We switched to the new 400 Mono printers and AIO's and have found them to be very popular, the 200 Colour units and AIO's look ideal for the one off office and workgroups Im considering one for home now.
teejay Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 The Epson Workforce Pro's are well worth looking at if going down the inkjet route.
SneakyBeaky Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 We have just installed a RICOH SPC430dn in the ITC suite and another in the head's offfice. Both leased.
alan-d Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Our HT opted for a mono printer but the Brother HL 3040 is a decent colour laser. [h=3][/h]
mattianuk Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Just brought Samsung CLP 400 - good price and efficient machines, but costly per page still. I dont allow inkjets in the school.
CESIL Posted November 12, 2012 Author Posted November 12, 2012 Just brought Samsung CLP 400 - good price and efficient machines, but costly per page still. I dont allow inkjets in the school. I am not keen on inkjets but small lasers seem pretty expensive to run as well...
m25man Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 I dont allow inkjets in the school. My missus wont allow them in the house after she came down one morning to find the my Epson had decided to release the entire contents of its ink cartridge out through the bottom of the machine down the front of her Oak dresser onto the white carpet!! Sorry Lasers only now.
elsiegee40 Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 I have an HP CP1025N at home. Smashing little colour laser printer. I wouldn't be without it.
Alis_Klar Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I have an HP CP1025N at home. Smashing little colour laser printer. I wouldn't be without it. We have 4 of these at work. HORRIBLE!! Only has 6 little LEDS to describe problems (I require a dot matrix display). Black cart is same size as colours so lasts about 1000 prints (or less!!) Installing a replacment toner cart is much harder than it should be. Would be ok for home as ours have Wifi which we don't use of course.
dave.81 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Cheap lasers are never cheap when it comes to toners. We have ditched HP's for Epson workforce printers now when we use inkjets though.
TecD Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 inkjets can be more expensive too The great printer rip off: It costs more than vintage champers - and devious new tricks mean you constantly have to buy refills | Mail Online
