oalcock Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 One of our OfficeJet 8000 printers has stopped printing black, it just prints colour! I have carried out all the printing services options such as print head cleans, alignment, and have even physically cleaned the print head and cartridge cradle (I call it this, I know there is a correct name for it but I can't think what that name is.) Anybody seen this with HP Printers? I don't think HP Printers are what they used to be......... Oliver.
Netman Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Sounds like you might need to replace the printhead - do you have another good one you can test with? Some info here on cleaning those printheads - HP state not to leave them out for more than a few minutes or they dry up! oalcock Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 Thank you for your reply Netman! I will have a read through the info - but I have realised that it's actually a HP Officejet 6000, not an 8000. Does this change anything?
Netman Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Ah, we don't have those, just the pesky 8000 pro's... there is some info here on replacing the printhead on the 6000 here though.. Replacing the Printhead Assembly HP Officejet 6000 Printer series - E6 | HP® Support 1
oalcock Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 It is just throwing paper out constantly now and providing a beautiful array of flashing lights! I think it's time for the tub for this printer! New Printer required.
