Isn't this the first Republican-controlled congress in 60 years? It's pretty weak, IMO, to blame the Republican congress for Obama's failings. How did republican presidents manage for the last 6 decades? because the democrate will work with people in power the republicans stated that their aim was to get Obama out and not let him pass anything. Notice their aim wasnt to improve america or moderate what they percieve as obamas willder policies but just to vote anything down (this includesfor example paying towards medical expenses for the 1st responders at the world trade centre for example somwthing that SHOULD get the support of every person regardless of political leanings)

Can I remind everybody that we're talking about a country that put George W Bush in power twice?! Although admittedly, against John Kerry, he may actually have been (I can't believe I'm saying this) the better choice...

Romney is a investor/owner of one of the companies that make the voting machines used in lots of the states... Gather what you will from this!

Yeah I heard that via Twitter a few weeks back, it shouldn't be legal! Regardless of legality, how can it not look suspicious that his family (it was his son I believe) bought a controlling share in the company just weeks before Mitt Romney was up for election? It just doesn't sit right.

The same argument we saw above, where Democrats are nice and lovely because they're Democrats, whereas Republicans aren't because they aren't. Even so, blocking Obama's good policies is idiotic as it does nothing but display a personal vendetta and certainly doesn't help the American people. It's akin to a child refusing to take a piece of cake because they've fallen out with the birthday boy.

However apparently there is a question over Ohio and Romney may object to the result there. Edit: Romney has now conceded defeat. Standings are now: Obama: 303: Romney:203. But I don't keep up with US politics. I'll admit I half-blindy like Obama. The vague explanations of his policies I've been given I agreed with, but m'eh. I'd get more involved if I were actually an American.
elsiegee40 Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 I find the numbers behind the election interesting: BBC News - US 2012 election results With only 130,000 votes between the two candidates after 50 states have declared (Florida still to go), the Americans clearly are divided. Obama is still winning on that score, bet less convincingly than he did through the official electoral college. The turn out looks like it's just over 30%.
