I've built sites before using Dreamweaver but never used Joomla in anger and I know nothing about php so I'm going to need a little help please. Amazon.co.uk: joomla 2.5
sidewinder Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 I've got the Joomla Explained book and I wouldn't recommend it - most of the book covers things that I had worked out for myself before I got it, simple stuff such as creating articles and menus, although if you had never used it it would probably be useful. 1

Thanks. I forgot to say that I intend to use Home - YOOtheme templates which look very professional for the price.

As for a book, I never really read a book it was a case of local install of joomla and played about with it. Yootheme do sample data install, install that and play about with it, break it, install it again until your happy with how things work

Amazon.co.uk: joomla 2.5 I would install Joomla and play with it. If you mess it up, just re-install it. That is how I learnt Joomla. The Joomla installation includes sample data that can be installed. Also, Joomla 3.0.1 is out now. So books for Joomla 2.5 may not be any use Edited October 31, 2012 by Devontechie

In the themes section>>>downloads link at the top>>>>pick which theme you want it listed as Joomla 2.5 Demo Package as far as I can remember that includes Joomla.
