ID Card Printing

Hi,

 

We have been asked to look in to an id card printing machine as the one we have is unreliable and doesn't meet our current needs. Can someone recommend a machine that will erase/rewrite colour identity badges? Is this even possible as I have only seen machines/cards that will do black?

The re-writable technology relies on the card containing a special layer and I can't see any which are doing full colour.

 

depends on what card tech you require too if any mifare, legic, hid etc....

WE use the Zebra P430i printer with card-five software,

 

Had it well over 18 months.

 

not had a fault with it yet.

 

All supplies are bought from digitalid.co.uk

 

We run it along side a product called inventry. I Print bar codes on them so scan can scan in and out.

 

Saved us a fortune.

 

NOt cheap initially but pays for itself.

We use a piece of software called fles which links in with a barcode scanner for quick in/out and print, will print in either mono or colour it is highly flexible hence the name and has worked well for the past 2 years.

 

 

Fairly cheap too!

Funnily enough, we also use this software and although it can play up from time to time, it does the job. The card printer we have from magicard has stopped working from the hopper so you have to hand feed cards for it to print. Also you have to remove the dye-film to use the erasable cards and as we would like print in colour and use erasable cards, it is a bit of a pain to have to do this.
