Schema Updates on a CC3 Network

We have gradually gone through the process of replacing RM services and functions with vanilla systems and now have a system which we believe uses none of the RM facilities. Our next job is to gradually rebuild our 3 DCs as either 2008R2, or possibly even 2012 servers.

 

My main question at the minute is whether anyone has ever had, or could see any reason why, an AD Schema update to 2008R2/2012 level would cause an issue?

You can update the schema to 2008 R2 without it affecting CC3, as we did this last year to take us upto 2003 R2 to begin with, then upto 2008 R2 earlier this year for our new DC's
