Desks - I-desk in particular

We are a KS3 Special School for boys with behavioural issues, class size maximum of 8 and have a new classroom coming to life in the near future for ICT use. We want to kit it out suitably with 8 separated desks, a teacher workstation and IWB. Yesterday we had a presentation from I-desk

 

Anyone else running an i-desk set up in similar circumstances in the area who could recommend it please?

Ive used them before and wasnt impressed unless they have changed the cable hole is a pain even more so since they added usb & audio on a box on screen pole the lid is awkward to get off and cables can be a pain to connect. Last ones i had used asus motherboards but a real odd one with an odd nic. Ive said it before they appear to of got 80-90% of the way to a great product and thought good enough.

I've not used I-desks before but others - personally I just get a good chippie and some quality kitchen worktop and get something built.

We've got an old style idesk setup in our music department, but same principals I guess.

 

Pros:

Really smart, and neat.

Nothing much kids can touch.

 

Cons:

Hassle trying to find any issue as it's all locked inside a desk.

Limits to upgrades etc due to profile of pcs.

Because we have the all in one power style, there is nowhere to plug in a spare monitor etc to get a pc running if monitors etc die, as it's off special power feed.

 

As I said, older style desks, but if you're willing to do the extra bits of work when maintaining them, e.g. unlocking it every time, relocking it, etc etc they're nice
