Control Sound Settings via GPO

I'm looking to control mic levels of lab rooms via GPO so I don't have to reconfigure every time the machines are imaged. Also a way of switching the recording options so that the microphone is selected as the default input rather than the line in. I found a rather old topic that is directly related. The solution link seems to be dead. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
