How to disable computer configuration part of group policy

I think I am going mad. This should be easy. When right clicking a GPO there should be a 'status' option. There is no 'status' option. I seem to be unable to disable either the computer or the user configuration. Server 2003 R2 and MMC 3 version 5.2 R2. All suggestions gratefully received!

I think you need to click on the GPO in the list, NOT where it is being applied. Eg we have an install policy under "year 6" and if I look there there is no status, but if I look in the list of GPOs (usually at the bottom), I can right click and see the status. Hope that helps

Select GPO

Select Details tab

Choose "Computer Configuration disabled" on drop down for GPO Status

I was indeed in the wrong place! One of those (becoming too frequent) days.

In server 2003 open the AD and go to the OU>Properties>Group Policy>Properties>General>Disable
