I think I am going mad. This should be easy. When right clicking a GPO there should be a 'status' option. There is no 'status' option. I seem to be unable to disable either the computer or the user configuration. Server 2003 R2 and MMC 3 version 5.2 R2. All suggestions gratefully received!

Yes, I know that. What I do not want to do is set the schedule individually for each group – as I do not want the policy applying to all groups it is disabled for the entire network and I have to manually set up the schedule for each group.

Does anyone know how to copy a policy to other groups? We have a shutdown policy that we do not want to apply to all computers, but we do want it to apply to all computer lab groups. This is taking me an age to do individually so I reckoned there must be a quicker way! Even a way of copying the schedule from one day to another would be a great help. Many thanks in advance for any help forthcoming.

I have rebooted - I have been trying to sort this for several days! Task manager says: Spiceworks - Starting Up - Windows Internet Explorer Running.

Spiceworks seemed to install OK, but gets no further than 'Starting up'. I have left it for a matter of hours. Pc is running Vista SP2 and I am logged on as network manager. 4GB RAM, AMD Athlon dual core proc 2.6 GHz. I can no find no errors in the event logs. Everything, in fact, seems fine, it just doesn't work! Any help/suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I had a problem like this. Try KB 935882 in technet. You have to request a patch and they will send you a link. Worked for me!

35 hours a week term time only + 1 week. Just me at the moment, but should be techy for about 2 days a week term time only as well. 350 ish pcs, 150 ish laptops, 6 servers, loads of projectors, whiteboards. Paid to install new pcs in the summer.

I had error checked it, and defragged. Also now run disk cleanup for disk restore and shadow copies. Now only missing 4GB which I think he will have to live with. Thanks to all.

I had emptied the recycle bin! Just trying WinDirStat - I had used xytree. It is a partion, but C:\, not a recovery partition.

A teacher accidently started to synchronise with our intranet. He got rid of everything he could find that had been downloaded to his laptop, but the disk is showing under 10Gb free. He is sure there should be more. I added up all the space used by all files and directories (including the pagefile, hiberfil.sys and hidden recyclers) and there is definitely 30Gb unaccounted for. I am stumped! Any and all suggestions would be gratefully received.

We are due to run a trial of Impero. Has anyone got more recent comments than I can find on the site (which seem mostly very positive)? We are an upper school - I wondered if it was aimed more at younger students. All input would be greatly appreciated.

We are thinking of getting a suite of laptops for classroom use. We are an upper school - I imagine such laptops work very well in lower/junior schools. Has anyone any experience of using laptops like this? My major concerns are charging (if they are in use every lesson their batteries are sure to run down - if not at first then definitley when the batteries age a bit), and damage. I have been told that on average 25% will be out of order at any given time - seems a lot to me. I'd vert much appreciate any comments/information anyone may have.
