TechieWils Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Morning Nick The usuals first, love HAP so useful and love all the features your getting in there. I've found a problem with IE9 on our network. Some people have reported that the booking system gets stuck with a blank screen and on the helpdesk a user cannot register a new ticket or even see their old tickets. Looks like something isnt loading up. This happens no matter who logs on to the machine, but works fine if the user uses Google Chrome. Is there anything I could do to make it more consistent? All machines on site have being imaged with the same image over the summer to Windows 7 SP1 Pro. Thank you as always.
mattgrimley Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Hi @TechieWils Are your ie browsers running in "compatability mode"? To test this, log in and hit F12 to display the "Developer Tools". In the top bar of the pop-up tools at the bottom, it will say "Browser Mode: xxxx" and "Document Mode: xxxx" Also, can you test using firebug in firefox on the same pages and see if you get anything useful? http://www.edugeek.net/forums/home-access-plus/86059-hap-json-debugging.html 1
TechieWils Posted October 9, 2012 Author Posted October 9, 2012 I thought I replied to this? I remember writing a response... Any way just to say your a genius turned out comparability mode was on, one click and life is good again cheers.
mattgrimley Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 In replying to this, i noticed mine is doing it again.. I fixed it last time by re-ordering a line in masterpage.master - but i'll look into it tomorrow and post back here a more permanent solution (All of your stations in the LAN running IE will treat your server as a local server and for some reason default to "compatability mode". Idiotic huh? - Nick has overcome it programatically, but for some reason, my install always needed a line moving - i just didnt notice issues this time round as i use chrome!) Matt
nickbro Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Check your masterpage file it should have at the top, if it doesn't change to use it. This is the HTML5 doc type and IE picks it up and it should force it into standards mode
mattgrimley Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Actually all mine is doing is running Browser Mode as "ie9 Compat View" - but the document mode is as it should be "ie 9 standards" (As @nickbro said, no changes required)
