Kyocera Printer Drivers!

Why cant there just be one driver for each printer that works perfectly in every application?! Is it that hard!

 

Even better, one driver that does all printers!

Heres the problem... Over summer we moved from a Server 2003 print server to 2008 R2. Recently as everyone has been using different application we have found some problems with drivers, mainly PowerPoint/Excel/Adobe Reader.

 

The main culprits are Kyocera 5150 and 5300 - Does anybody know a driver that works well for these?

KX drivers are normally the best drivers to use, is that what you have tried?

I have tried quite a few... Which KX driver? I see two different ones on the Kyocera website

I feel your pain, we did a similar thing over the summer, not changing print servers but getting in a fleet of Kyocera copiers and printers. I've had no problem, yet, with the copier KX drivers but had loads of problems with the KX drivers for the 5350s we have. But I did eventually find one that seems to work.

 

Try downloading the KX driver at the top of the list on the Kyocera website, it's the Microsoft signed one and extract it. When you come to pick a driver to install choose the 5030 KX driver. I had loads of issues with the 5350 driver!! But the 5030 seems to have cured most of our issues. Never use the drivers on the CD, they are useless!

No problems here with Kyocera drivers on a 2008R2 server. I have the drivers that included in a download called Kx531025_MS-signed I run the setup on the server and pick the ip of the printer I want installing. Make sure to add the 32bit drivers in after installing.

I have the drvers installed but the ones for the 5350 cause nothing but problems. People print and the default tray is set to MF and the paper size is set to something called Bond! Printing pictures was nigh on a joke they would just come out as black boxes. As i say the 5030 KX driver appears to have solved those issues but it's taken a while to get there.

I put the KX drivers on this morning, seems to have solved most of the issues. Now we just have a teacher thats complaining it takes a whioe to print a 300mb document!

i believe alot of the driver downloads are duplicated on Kyocera's site for example a download to a FS1920 will also work fine with a 1750 etc
