Problem with .net and Impero on new install W7

I have a PC which had a disk fail. On rebuild with Windows 7 Pro I ran the Impero Client MSI - Impero fails to working and I'm getting a Microsoft.NET Framework 'unhandled exception' message popping up (constantly). details below. This doesn't mean a thing to me - hopefully it makes sense to someone on here?

 

The excellent support guys at Impero have spent a fair bit of time on this with me today but the problem persists. If Impero seems to partially install then the 'unhandled exception' message pops up - the Impero consul icon is desktoped but trying to run it fails to contact the server. Uninstalling the Impero components again makes the PC happy.

 

Any ideas please?

 

My next step is to wipe the HD and set the PC up again. Sadly we aren't running images!

I believe Mike posted on your ticket but thought I would a reply in case someone looking in the future..

 

Might be worth trying the following..

 

- make sure that C:\Windows\TempXMLSerialize is got rights with everyone.

 

- check the .net config file to make sure temp folder is set to C:\Windows\TempXMLSerialize and no other software has rewritten its location. Located at C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG\machine.config

 

Then search for tempFilesLocation and make sure it saying this tempFilesLocation="C:\Windows\TempXMLSerialize"

I have gone for a clean install and thankfully Impero went on a treat at an early stage. Fabulous software and I'm loathed to have a pc on the Network that's not got it installed.
