Hi All,

Its been a while since ive posted, Ive recently moved out of education and into a business enviroment! (Its very much different!) but thats for another post ;)

We have a smoothwall box here just acting as a web filter and that is going through an upstream proxy which is TMG. I might be missing something completely here but every now and again, users are complaining that they cant access some websites and its a TMG block page (URL Forbidden). I am using a .pac file on group policy to push out the guardian's pac file but im at a loss as to why people are seeing a TMG page...

Anybody come across this one?

Thanks,

Mart

because the traffic going through tmg is subject to filtering also. you need to make sure you disable all filtering rules etc on tmg as it has its own urlsets or categories that get blocked i'd just make sure that none of those features are turned on.

Ahhhhh ok, what an idiot!!! Yeah that makes sense now! Because I didnt set it up, I never thought of that! Ah well done sir! :)

Edit - Ah but thinking though, you can press F5 for a refresh of the page when you get the TMG page, and it will then appear?......

Depends on your rules - does the page you're loading have dynamic content? Either way, if the TMG is upstream of the Smoothwall and you are seeing the TMG blockpage, this is a TMG configuration issue, not a smoothwall one.
