We had this FOG server (0.29 I know its old but it works - well it used to) running on a desk in our tech office for a couple of months.

Had to move it to the server room while building work was carried out. Found out today it is not working. All machines stuck at the tftp boot part

Moved it back to tech office - works ok

Turned it off and put it under the tech office desk and now its not working again. Yes we have switched it on!

Changed DHCP to point to the spare Fog server, that works fine but we cant use that one as there is not enough space and our images are not on there.

any ideas?

Yes I can ping it from the network, and the pings stop when I unplug it. So I know there is not another device sitting on its IP address.

I have done it numerous times on 0.32 but try it on your spare first as i don't know whether 0.29 installation will recreate the mysql tables. on .32 it just overwrites the settings and keeps all the information intact.

I would imagine so.

But seems as you can't use your spare one because your images aren't on there couldn't you test with that?

Would save you some time as the spare is unusable anyway.

I'm 100% sure it works in my environment but as i said earlier .29 may be different.

Thanks Kris

After I finally stopped trying to avoid a reinstallation, that was what fixed it. So you can reinstall on 0.29 without wiping out your previous installation.

Have some Rep and lots of thanks :D
