[wds] Acer Aspire One

Hi all,

I hope you have had a good summer!

 

We have a number of AcerAspire One that will not connect to the WDS server.

I have tried to image one, and have also sysprep one. It will connect to the capture image, asks me where to save the image, but won't connect to the server when I select the option to upload.

All other machines are connecting fine, so it seems like a network card issue, but the drivers are in the image and also in the driver store on the server.

 

Any ideas?

Press Shift-F10 at the connection screen to open a command prompt and run ipconfig to check for an address. I'm thinking it might not have drivers for the NIC and isn't telling you.

Could be a slow network initiation. Sometimes it takes some time to grab an IP address and if it does not in time then it will fail out. The newer versions of MDT will try pings to make sure that it can connect before progressing. I would go with the above suggestion to see if this is the case.
