beeswax Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 yes we have. I've been in this post (school techie) for nigh on 2 years now, and if we've had any problems they've been dealt with on a return to base/replacement part/swap efficiently and swiftly. I don't think they're as cheap as some other suppliers, but they offer a 3 year warranty. They've recently taken to imaging machines for us as we've been too busy to handle it. We have used other suppliers, but mainly because they offered us such a good deal that we could be accused of wasting the school's money if we didn't go down that route. HTH
amacken Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 I'm using one right now at home, and it is superb. We have a couple of hundred of Stone machines which are very reliable. Support is second to none. Also, I was at the VIP open day of their new facility this week, simply stunning. They announced that they have just bought their very own recycling facility, and as of July are offering a free 5 year warranty 8O on all purchases....stunning to say the least. Therefore they may be a little more expensive, but total cost of ownership wins hands down.
andrewsmart Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 I've got quite a few too - great machines. I've been a stone customer at various places now and they've not let me down yet

I couldn't go to the VIP day due to work commitments but I can back up the comments made about quality of kit and after sales service.
jumpinjamez Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Stone get my vote. Good kit, great support. I am finding it Harder to justify the little extra cost now as SMT see the bottom line and a 3 year RTB warrenty just as good as a Next day service
amacken Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Apologies for my above post...the 5 year warranty is on PC's, not laptops as I found out today
GrumbleDook Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 I would happily recommend Stone. All though we don't use them now I have always found their support pretty spot on, apart for their RTB service with Samsung laptops. I have been told that the next-day on-site has changed this now and if it wasn't for fantastic deals with our present supplier I would happily use their kit.
Nij.UK Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Stone which took over or merged with Compusys are a good company. I used them at my previous place and they have just won a contract for 80 machines. They are also one of our recommended suppliers. They get my vote
FN-GM Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Did you know that stone laptops are infact re-badge Samsungs!
Richie Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 We have been using Stone for a few years now and are very impressed. We only have a couple of their laptops but they are built very well and perform well too. The only comment from one member of staff was 'Its gets very hot though' but in my opinion, this is no worse than some of our newer HP laptops. We will be ordering another 17 within the next month. Incidentally, I did get to go to the VIP day last week and the facilities at stone are excellent and I would certainly recommend people to buy their kit. As well as a 5 year warranty on PC's, they will shortly be offering a 1 to 1 disposal service for IT when you place an order completely free of charge. It doesn't even have to be stone kit that you send back. So if you buy 10 PC's and 10 TFTs, they will take back 10 base units and 10 monitors (even CRT's) Service extras like this are definately worth it for us.
