Changing Folder Owner

Hi all, new problem for the day.

I work as a technician in a school and I have to change the permissions on every students folder so that they can access it. There are 1400 students.

At present, i am right clicking on the students folder (Eg. 12JeffreyR) > Properties > Security > Advanced > Owner > Edit > Other users or groups.

Once I am there, I enter the students username, eg. 12JeffreyR

And then tick the box to change owner on subcontainers and objects.

Is there a faster way of doing this so I dont have to go through all 1400 students in this way?
