why don't you configure it so it can look at the all users folder & the folder redirection?

 

We have 4 schools on 1 site so we need 4 different start menus for students and pupils. When we add software then we surely we would have to copy shortcuts to all of the machines if I'm reading what you saying correctly? Also, when I tested Folder re-direction I couldn't quite get it right, maybe it was me, I don't know...

 

We also deploy machines via RIS and not Ghost then deploy software via GPO.

yes but you can set it so that it reads the start menu folder in all users on the local computer and in that folder you place the shortcuts to the programs.

Would it be feasible to run a script at logon/startup to:

 

Remove all items in the local all users start menu

Copy down the network version of the start menu to the all user location

Force users to user the local All Users start menu

 

?
