Have you run it through th RM Application wizard?

If you have try starting the setup and going to start, run, %temp% and seeing if you can find its msi in there and copying it out and running it through as just the msi.

If you can find it in %temp% try %ALLUSERSPROFILE%.

You could also try creating a .ini file once you have the msi and importing it through the RMMC as a CC3 package.

Is this the same thing that has the name wildfire 5.0? I found this information useful and it ended up being quite easy to install (although this is on a CC3 network!)

Hey all thanks for help so far, I have had to install the software manually, ithnik it may be to large to create a package out of.

 

I now have the problem that it works for staff users but not pupils, the folder where the software is installed has the same rights for pupils and staff but when I run the software as a pupil nothing happens at all, not even an error message.

 

any ideas?

We discovered... well actually my colleague (who is off for two weeks!!) discovered that it ran some scripts when the program started, which meant that staff could use it but students got nothing when the icon was clicked. I am not sure what he did to correct this but he seemed to think it was relatively simple (ie adjusting settings for student user type). If I see him I will point him to this thread and see if he can be more use than I am.

Apologies for bringing this back but I've just hit this problem. Creo is installed and works fine for me and staff - but doesnt run for students. We're running CC4 on Win7 and noticed that it was running scripts on starting. When the students click on the icon nothing happens!

 

If anyone can give me a heads up on how to get this to work it would be much appreciated!

We had a similar problem with this but found that in the User Policies - System - Prevent Access to the command prompt (leave tick in here) and then expand the option and change the setting for Disable the command prompt script processing also? to No.

also creo demands write access to system 32 and its own directory in program files. Would love to meet the people who make this software and ask them what they were thinking.

Sorry to bump an old thread. We are in the middle of a migration project to Windows 10. We are trying to get Creo 3.0 to work, it will open as an administrator, but not a student test user. Creo 3.0 applications eg Parametric will not open up at all, there are no error messages. Would anybody be kind enough to let me know the steps they took to resolve this issue? I have contacted PTC but the support has been limited.

I know on the last version you had to allow write access to the install folder for it to update some config files, guessing might explain why admin can but student couldn't, would be an easy test to see if it's the issue before digging much further
