X-13 Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 (edited) Tis not very good. Or at least it wasn't when I used to attempt to use it. I just use TS3 / Vent / Skype / Mumble now. Maybe it's good now. [Which I can't check because our filtering is a PoS.] Le EDIT: OH, FFS. That Url is blocked here as an "intolerance list." Edited October 12, 2012 by X-13
Valentine Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 I also discovered WoW has built-in voice chat... But you probably already knew that. [if so, why are people still using external programs?] Because it is bad, and the other aren't. Mumble all the way.
X-13 Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Because it is bad, and the other aren't. Mumble all the way. First opinion from 2010 without further testing, or testing every so often to see if it's fixed?
Valentine Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 It was more like 2007, it's been around a while. And i can't say i have used it recently but can't remember seeing anything in any patch notes about it being updated.
Geoff Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Works properly in Planetside 2 and any Source based game (TF2, etc), but those the only ones I can think of.
rich_tech Posted October 13, 2012 Author Posted October 13, 2012 voice chat doesnt work if your using the 64 bit client anyway, I always preferred an external comms program, like vent/mumble myself.
Valentine Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 (edited) Up to 48 daily quests now to gain rep with all factions. Really does bug me as I am a bit of a completionist but we are talking about 2+ hours of daily quests *sigh*. Has completely put me off leveling any alts too. Edited October 16, 2012 by Valentine

Really does bug me as I am a bit of a completionist but we are talking about 2+ hours of daily quests *sigh*. Just hit 90 on Sunday, started the halfhill dailies, but I probably won't start any of the others until I've done their quest zones. Just finishing off Dread Wastes at the minute. There's a LOT of blues on my map now though o.o
Geoff Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 You don't have to do all the dailies every day! What is it the Pandaren keep saying as you quest through the zones? "Slow down".

Ah, but lets look at Vincent's 48 dailies.. Now you get 5 Valor and 20G for most of them, if not all. So lets say that's 240 valor and 960G a day just from 2 hours of dailies.. That sounds worth it to me! I've got my exploration, lore hunting, professions and quests to do yet too.. plenty to keep me busy!
Valentine Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Well if you do them every day after 2 months you will still be doing dailies, seems too long
Geoff Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 (edited) Yes but there's a cap on valor per week of 1k so you'll hit your valor cap before you run out of week days to do dailies in. Thats also discounting the fact that even if you have the valor to buy stuff you wont rep up fast enough to unlock the items for purchase. As for gold, I play the auction house if it took me as long on the AH to get 1k gold as it does to do those dailies I wouldn't waste my time on it. There's far quicker and easier ways to make more gold on the AH in two hours (easy one if you have a miner/alchemist, farm 60 ghost iron bars and transmute them up to a living steel bar. Easy gold, even more gold can be made if you combine with another professsion). Edited October 16, 2012 by Geoff

Oh yeah, I know about the caps and such, I just really don't mind doing dailies and that just seems like an even better reason to do them in my eyes As for playing the AH, I've got mining and JC atm, but they're sitting around the 350 mark, I haven't levelled them since Outlands as I needed to level quickly and haven't yet found the time (server moved a lower level just before the expansion hit). Currently playing the Darkmoon Faire items on the AH, buying them at around 50g when people have bombed it all, then distributing 1 each to my alts for their tickets, and selling the rest when the Faire starts each month, made around 10k doing it so far. Used to make my money from the 365 ilevel weapons at the start of Firelands, buy mats for 4k, sell for 14k.
Geoff Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 I make 10k a day from Engineering pets, Enchants, Blacksmithing PvP/PvE Blues and Inscription Glyphs. Leatherworking and Tailoring are still work in progress for me.
Geoff Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Cleared 10man normal vaults on my horde guild. The guild itself is on 3/6 Heroic. I'm not up for that kind of commitment these days! My alliance guild hasn't even considered raiding yet, bit more laid back about the whole situation.
rich_tech Posted October 16, 2012 Author Posted October 16, 2012 I have decided to xfer my hunter and priest off outland horde now to frostwhisper, I am enjoying playing my hunter at the moment and getting him levelled, I was pretty bored and alone on Ragnaros, seems since my RL mate got married, hes doing other stuff and being alone in a guild is a bit rubbish in this game, no matter of the perks Druid is alright, tanking is easy enough, but I dont think theres enough in this game to keep me entertained more than a couple of months I think here, I dont fancy grinding out no end of dailies for rep either, I havent liked them all along, because of the tedium involved in making the game repetitive, we shall see though how it goes.
LiamH Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Anyone else bored of the massive amounts of dalies? I haven't logged on at all this week just out of the sheer apathy about spending hours going through them all. I know i could not bother with them but don't get the urge to log on at all. Previously it just seemed like there were half a hour worth of dailies you could do while waiting in queue, now to finish all of them it takes hours solo.

I dislike there are so many, the game is basically making you decide which ones to concentrate on rather than doing them all. If you look at the rewards it is pretty unlikely that you need to do them all anyway (assuming the completionist in you can cope with that). To access everything but pretty mounts: Tillers to Exalted (can ignore if you don't want to do farmville) Cloud Serpent to Exalted (well this is a pretty mount I know, but flying dragons!!) Klaxxi to Revered Golden Lotus to Revered ->August Celestials to Revered (Exalted if you are a tailor) ->Shadow Pan to Revered Doing this you are only ever doing 4 sets of dailies each day maximum and once you have Golden Lotus to revered you will have finished the Cloud Serpent and Klaxxi so will just be doing Tillers, Shadow Pan and August Celestials. Edited October 18, 2012 by Valentine
LiamH Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Yeah at the moment when i can build up the will to log on i'm doing Golden Lotus, both sets of dailies, which can be a pain solo. Tillers, easy dailies Klaxxi, the area is just so depressing Cloud Serpent, if we could race more it would be fun Fishing ones, just for the new fishing hat really, don't need to do these. Im guessing next week will be better as my OH wont be working silly hours and it goes a lot faster then, im feral druid so doing most of them in bear spec to make it faceroll, but the dps takes a while.
Valentine Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 They are much easier with 2 people I will admit. You may already be doing it but the Klaxxi dailies are really fast if you get the Raining Blood enhancement from Xaril. It does stupid stupid (stupid) damage and you kill every mob in about 3 seconds, you can pull a load and AoE them too and they still take stupid damage and also get stunned.
Geoff Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 (edited) Just got Cloud Serpents to Exalted and won the race so there's no need for me to ever touch those dailies again. Slightly dismayed at the news that 5.1 brings even more daily quests for us to do! My other pet peeve is that LFR awards more VP than normal 10man. Edited October 18, 2012 by Geoff
Valentine Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 (edited) Hmm also just noticed getting Exalted with Klaxxi gets you a quest which gives you an epic ilvl 489 ring. Anyone know if there are similar quests for the other factions? Edit: Golden Lotus gives you a necklace, damn you Blizzard!! Edited October 18, 2012 by Valentine
Geoff Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Yeah so don't waste your VP buying rings and necks!
