Exchange 2010 trying to move users to a new database, getting errors

Hi

 

i have numerous databases and i am trying to move users to a new database, i go through the local move request and select new and it takes about 5 seconds then generates this error:

What SP and UR is Exch on?

 

Souce and target?

If not SP2 UR3 I would that you get there 1st

are you doing this on the DB server or a CAS?

It is sp1 server.

 

The server is a multi roled server so is cas and DB.

Have you tried in the management console rather than power shell?

 

Or alternative command such as.

 

New-MoveRequest –Identity USER01 –TargetDatabase ‘NewDatabase’

Have you considered going to SP2 UR3?

 

As for the move, I assume it's from one DB to another on the same server?

 

Can you also check to see if security inheritance is checked on the security tab on user account properties in ADUC.

the inheritance is ticked, the error is generated between databases on the same server as well as databases on a different server.

I have service packed the boxes and now seems to be working, thanks everyone

Was it just SP2 or did you deploy UR3 too? I do remember seeing something similar to this but can't remember if the fix was in SP2 or UR3.
