d0pefish Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 If you have any ideas / suggestions for features that could be implemented in the next version or update of BookMe, please feel free to post them here. I can't guarantee all features will go in, but I'll try my best to put things in that would be beneficial to the majority of people using or wanting to use BookMe
d0pefish Posted July 27, 2012 Author Posted July 27, 2012 Just to get in there early, current features I am working on are: Reports for admin users to see most booked rooms, highest booking departments and highest booking users over a user selected time period Option for admins to set how many periods in a selected time period standard users can book. For example users can only book 15 periods in a two week period. This could be used in conjunction with the already in place feature of restricting how far ahead users can book [undecided if it will be added] The booking overview page will show how many free periods are bookable that day so standard users can see at a glance if anything is free. For example "Senior ICT Suite - 20 machines available - 4 bookable periods today"
d0pefish Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 Also on the list for features are : Two week timetables (hopefully) ability to set number of periods per day
FN-GM Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Two Week timetables would be one for us as well. The ability to run off reports on how often the rooms are used etc but for users as well as admins The ability to pull timetabled data from SIMS.
d0pefish Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 Reporting is coming in the version I'm working on now. It will show Room usage - by department / by user (department) Department usage - by room / by user User usage - highest booking users overall All are able to be searched by a user selectable time span It's been ages since I've used SIMS so can't really say I'd know how to pull data out of it. I could look in to importing a CSV file though. Or is that not what you were on about?
plexer Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 2 week timetables is a requirement here as well and the ability to control holidays and what week it will be after a holiday. I'd like to be able to import from our timetabler application which is Timetable software : for scheduling your school or college timetable. dunno if they could provide some info on how to acheive that? Ben
d0pefish Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 (edited) 2 week timetables is a requirement here as well and the ability to control holidays and what week it will be after a holiday. you can input holidays and set which days they start/end on. I assume for controlling what week it will be means if its week1 before half term, you have one week half term but its not necessarily week1 again when you start back? If so, that's something I'll have to look in to. As for the importing, I think as and when its implemented it'll just be a CSV import with set headers so it would be fairly standard across most MIS's Cheers Edited August 1, 2012 by d0pefish
plexer Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Indeed with single week or odd week holidays if we end on week 1 we'd come back on week 2, I think. Ben
d0pefish Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 will keep it in mind. Something along the lines of : If a 2 week timetable is selected, when adding a holiday there is a box asking which timetable should be shown when the holiday ends
RichCowell Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Is it / will it be possible to see multiple rooms on the same view? We currently use Devizes School Online Booking, and it's been working well, but it's quite basic... and the ability to make multiple bookings would be worth moving for by itself...
TheScarfedOne Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Email alerts / email confirmations on bookings?
d0pefish Posted January 20, 2013 Author Posted January 20, 2013 Is it / will it be possible to see multiple rooms on the same view? We currently use Devizes School Online Booking, and it's been working well, but it's quite basic... and the ability to make multiple bookings would be worth moving for by itself... at the moment it's not really possible no, you click on a room and it will show you the timetable for that room. due to the size of the timetable it can't really fit on other info. i'm hoping for v2 to have something more along the lines of a search, so you search for monday period 1, and it will show all rooms on that day/period and their bookings. unfortunately v2 is a few months off yet at least. 1
d0pefish Posted January 20, 2013 Author Posted January 20, 2013 Email alerts / email confirmations on bookings? again thats something i've definitely flagged for v2. having either a "room admin" or owner of room set, so when a booking is made they get an email. only reason it wasn't in yet is that for me personally there was no need for it, but it's already on the list to be added 1
Benmorgan86uk Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 again thats something i've definitely flagged for v2. having either a "room admin" or owner of room set, so when a booking is made they get an email. only reason it wasn't in yet is that for me personally there was no need for it, but it's already on the list to be added I think in line with that it would be handy to have informational emails such as a booking being cancelled by an admin notifies the teacher that has booked the room so at very least the teacher doesn't think they have booked the room and find another class or exam in there.
d0pefish Posted June 10, 2014 Author Posted June 10, 2014 Has the Week A /B option been looked at? I have listed down a way of customising weeks and what is shown when yep
