Spec for a Laptop

I am after a laptop for someone currently in 6th Form but I want it to be useful for when they venture off to Uni. I am looking at around £550 mark.

Doesnt need to be high end but should be capable of some photo and video manipulation.

So is the school buying it or the individual? only ask because of exvat or incvat

First has a better processor, second has a better graphics card, both same price. (though looking again i guess you're talking incvat and not being bought by the school?)

Its for some students applying for the 16-19 Bursary fund. Not sure how that pans out, School bought or individual? I would think Individual but I am providing the advice on what laptop would be suitable.
