tj2419 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Hi We have a CC4 network and use RM tutor 5. But for it to work and even for the link to show up in all programs we have to set staff up as privileged users on that particular machine, which is annoying. Is this how tutor works? Or is this a fault on our installation? Does yours just work or do you also have to make them privileged user? Thanks
Tallwood_6 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 It should work fine using a standard staff user type, privillaged users are not required. 1
tj2419 Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 Just need to figure out why ours does not now then thanks
X-13 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I'm not sure about CC4 [we're still on CC3 for the moment], but it sounds like you haven't put the shortcut somewhere allocated to teachers. Check the program sets tab in RMMC [if it's the same as CC3].
ajs Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Certainly an idea to check what groups you have assigned to the Program Set that the shortcut is in as it does sound like you may not have Teaching Staff listed in there.
jdell Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 We have been using RM tutor on CC4 for a while now and have no problems it might be worth checking your teachers Users Registry policy and the PC policies which are applied along with as ajs said the program sets as it should all work no problems proving all that is set correctly RM tutor should work a dream.
rad Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Log a call with RM, you pay them to make your life easier.
Edu-IT Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 There's security set on the actual package. Check to see what this says. Post the data here if you're unsure.
tj2419 Posted July 30, 2012 Author Posted July 30, 2012 Hi Sorry about the delay been a bit manic. Here is the security set on the package. Anything wrong with it that would stop normal teaching staff from running it without priviledge user access. Thanks
ajs Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 There's nothing in there that jumps out at me as stopping Teaching Staff from accessing the application. What groups do you have set for the Program Set?
