jinnantonnixx Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I've not been impressed by much American candy / chocolate I've ever tried (and I've tried a lot lol) certainly none of Hershey's stuff did anything for me. Us Brits seems to have a far sweeter tooth than most other places, or maybe we have just become accustomed to our uber-sugary chocolate so that other kinds taste awful / bitter. Oh, Hershey is still stuffed full of sugar. I don't know what they do to make it taste so awful, perhaps it's something to do with the cocoa mass or cocoa butter.
Arthur Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 10 kilograms of Hershey bars for £30! Anyone interested?  http://i.imgur.com/iLvgC.png

Rawns Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 (edited) I'm throwing my 2 'US' cents in towards the US drinks and going straight to the worlds most addictive and awesome liquid drink!!! I'm talking the proper US original 'Dew, not the UK remake which had to remove the corn syrup and YELLOW 5 because of EU law, or that poor attempt at a 'Dew energy drink. I usually order crates of the stuff from Amazon from time to time to ensure it's the proper US stuff. I LOVE it so, so much. If possible, I would just take it Intravenously!!! Edit! Awwwwwww yeaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! American Soda - The real taste of America in Europe! Edited August 30, 2012 by Rawns 1
Dos_Box Posted August 30, 2012 Author Posted August 30, 2012 I believe Asda have now pulled it from the shelves (will have to double check). But I suspect there was quite a bit of Hershey's exported to the UK/Europe and it hasn't sold very well at all hence the cheap selling off. Oh, and talking of Asda, their smart price chocolate (30p a 100g bar) and 'Chosen by you' chocolate (£1 per 200g bar) is surprisingly good (milk, white and dark). We use the smart price ones for cooking (chocolate brownies anyone?). Mind you, teh foreign ones they sell in Aldi/Lidl for £1 a bar are very, very nice too
