I like your optimism there, believing that a sticker on a plug will make anyone pay the blindest bit of attention before the unplug the computer/switch/otherImportantDoodad to plug an iPod dock in. Not seen it myself but I'm willing to believe that the development of animated colour e-ink labels will finally allow a useful label to be made.

I noticed a defective 13A socket in our concourse. I notified the Site Manager and stuck a big sticky label over the plug with DANGER DO NOT US written on it. Next day, the SM called me down to see it. There were three neat little rectangular holes punched through the label!

I think the point is, that if there is a sign at least @SimpleSi can say " you didn't read the sign" and therefore it isn't his fault as he TRIED to tell people!
