Logging onto remote server through slow vlan? Any setup tips?

Hi,

 

We are just about to install the last of our sites onto the network however the connection speed runs at 2mb.

 

The computers will log onto the domain controllers that are located at another site.

 

So far the plan is to setup a local server to handle printers and to store profiles on the site.

 

If we can help it we do not want to use the server at the site as a third DC.

 

Is there anything else we can do to ensure that they still receive resonable speeds but still have full functionality?
