[sims] Y11 to Y12 promotion question

Just wondering how people deal with Year 11 students going forward into Y12? Previously, against better judgement, we've dumped all Y11 students into a temporary tutor group and then moved them out into their respective tutor groups when they enrol for Y12. The main reason is because the staff wanted to get their timetables sorted before they enrol, even though they are not 100% sure they will all come back.

 

This year I don't want that to happen because it's caused discrepencies with data and I'm not sure it's the correct way to do it.

 

Is the correct way, off-roll all Year 11, then only re-admit those who come back (as it will depend on their GCSE results)?

Not sure if that is the correct answer, pupils who are returning to Y12 should not have a leaving date. Look for the thread 'EOY routines -leavers' in the support net forums for more details.

 

I find that whatever I do there are data problems....
