Our new head is the proud owner of a Blackberry phone, and unlike our current head needs to be able to sync her Live@edu email and calendar to her phone.

We have already done this with Ios or android but not Blackberry.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

To bring this back on topic, how do others on Live@edu sync calendars etc with blackberry users?

I am aware that office365 has blackberry sync available, but we are not in a position to migrate just yet.

Think a third party app for Blackberry may be the way to go, but could do with some recomendations.

Does it not sync the calendar anyway? I'm sure our BB using students have this working (we only have student email on our live@edu)

We tried both active sync and imap on the device, only imap worked, as far as I know IMAP only syncs email, active sync would be required for calendar sync.

Would love to know how your students are connecting? It sounds like theres at least something available that would work.

BlackBerry devices don't support Exchange ActiveSync the same way other smart phone devices do. BBs require BIS and BES in order to connect to Exchange. BBs can connect to Live@edu using an IMAP connection, and will be able to connect to Office 365 for education using RIMs free cloud hosted solution. :)
