As the title suggests : Has anyone got SAGE 200 working on a Virtual Server? I have it running on a physical 2003 member server at the moment. I could do a P2V or ideally build a new 2008 R2 VM and install SAGE on that.

Anyone done this? Any instructions? Gotchas or tips?

Yes we had Sage moved to VM including payrole.

IIRC ( as I was not past of the migration ) a fresh install of sage was done and the data base lifted and shifted.

Not had a complaint as far as I am aware in 8 months.

Do you know if the migration was done in-house or did you get someone in?

Given that it run's a Multi-Million Pound finance service we thought about inhouse/support service.... For quite a while, must have been 30-40 microseconds...

Sure it's a simple job, probably more so on a P2V (but you carry baggage ) , but if it goes wrong then you need somone to sort it quickly and properly.

Don't think it was expensive either.

We created a fresh Windows Server 2008 R2 VM install and installed Sage. This was the initial setup and non a migration as this was a new install completely.

No issues running on a VM for us.
